Belmonte 'Chase'

Arguably India's most famous film star Shah Rukh Khan has won no less than 13 Bollywood Oscars in a career spanning almost 20 years. As brand ambassador to SKNL's new youth oriented brand Belmonte, SRK's energy, spirit and individualistic style mirror the brand values appealing to a globally aspiring Indian youth.

Style Chase sees SRK being hotly pursued by three fashion wannabes through a series of environments from nightclubs to swank offices as he magically changes style only to have each new look imitated by his pursuers. Shot on location at disused hotel in Mumbai each scene presented challenges to production and post alike,

"We found a defunct hotel in Juhu and converted the entire hotel into different stylized zones, we actually welded metal together to create a multi-dimensional sets where we could hang mirrors from the ceiling and reinforce the sets for the action shots" Expained Director Aniket Shirke of Red Chillies Entertainment.

For post this also meant considerable clean up and set extension work such as cleaning up walls and insertion of CGI windows but the main challenge for BMD was the timing of the job. With insufficient time to send a shoot supervisor the BMD VFX team instead worked with Director Aniket to create a highly detailed VFX shoot board.

"Damien and Victor helped us break down our VFX components into a simple shooting process and that simplified our VFX work. Thanks to a great workflow we were able to trouble shoot problems on shoot over the phone with the BMD team and get quick solutions." Explained Aniket.

Back in post BMD Head of Offline Tammy Quah worked closely with Director Aniket to design a split-screen multi-panel edit which added to the fast paced intensity of the chase scenes.

"The end result was a slick looking film with racy visuals and a great edit it was a wonderful experience working with BMD. Everyone went out of their way to make this film a success through the pre-production up to the finished film, working with stringent deadlines is not new to this industry but at the end I never felt shortchanged or compromised because of that thanks to the efficient team at BMD. I'm waiting for my next big job to come back and work with this team again." Concluded Aniket.
